Grand Junction, CO – The Colorado Department of Education has released the 2026 School Performance Frameworks and District Performance Frameworks (SPF/DPF), which serve as an annual “report card” for Colorado schools and districts, measuring academic achievement, student growth and, at the high school level, postsecondary and workforce readiness.

Grand Junction, CO - Grand Junction, CO — The Colorado Department of Education has released district-level results from the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS), PSAT, and SAT assessments administered in spring 2026. The results show progress toward District 51’s Strategic Plan academic goals, including strengths in reading and writing and gains in mathematics across several grade levels.

Located above the banks of the Colorado River on the south end of Grand Junction, Orchard Mesa Middle School is the home of the proud Knights. At Orchard Mesa Middle School (OMMS) staff and students strive to live up to our vision of, "Equipping students for life." OMMS provides a safe school culture where every student can belong and find avenues that link to personal passions and interests. Rigorous Academics
The OMMS faculty prides itself on prioritizing rigorous and relevant academic courses in the areas of Science, Math, English Language Arts, and Social Studies.
Exploratory Courses and STudent Programming
One of the greatest assets of OMMS is the breadth and depth of exploratory course options. Students can choose to survey topics like Computer Science, Art, Engineering, music, or Physical Education.
Extensions, Interventions, and Extracurriculars
Students at OMMS have access to more unique programming choice based both during the day and after school. During the day students can participate in Theater Performing Arts courses, Spanish World Language courses, and the AVID college preparatory elective program.
